Dear West Ridge Families,

I couldn’t be more excited to take on the role of President of our West Ridge Teacher Organization (WR PTO) for the 2023-2024 school year!  While I assumed the role for a short interim in the 22-23 school year, I knew that we were on the brink of accomplishing so many wonderful new goals and projects as a PTO.  With COVID in the rearview mirror (we hope), we are fully back in action and back to business as usual.

My ultimate objective for this school year is for our parents and teachers to feel heard and have a clear picture of how their PTO is spending our money.  Communication will also be at the forefront of this year, as we are excited to begin onboarding the Remind app giving us the ability to text parents reminders.  The PTO is also excited to, for the first time, be offering FIVE days of hot lunch options.  Should you not like packing lunch - don’t worry, we got you!  Not only does it make your job as a parent easier, but it is also the biggest fundraiser we currently have running in our PTO.  We look forward to hosting our first annual Fall Family Festival - totally free of charge to our West Ridge families.  This will give all new and returning families the opportunity to gather, meet, and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather with lots of fun activities for the kids.  And of course, all of our usual favorites like Monster Mash, ice cream days, book fair, and holiday shoppe will all be returning.

If you are new to West Ridge and the PTO, please know that our purpose is to serve the West Ridge School by encouraging a close relationship with parents, administrators, and faculty in order to enhance cooperation between home and the school so that parents and teachers can work together effectively to ensure quality education; And to unite educators and the general public in order to secure the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education for all children.  The WR PTO Executive Board is here to lead that work, however it takes many volunteers to ensure that our children have a fulfilling school year.  Parent volunteers are always necessary and deeply appreciated!  Please reach out to learn more about how you can get involved this year!

Please also take a few minutes to explore this WR PTO website site to learn about the current board, our fundraising and enrichment activities, and how you can support the PTO and our West Ridge community. Our webmasters, Jerim & Kristen, keep the site updated with important dates, forms and event information, so please check back often.  Please also consider following us on Facebook by joining the West Ridge Elementary PTO private group.

Please let the PTO know if you have any questions or if you have any ideas for programs or fundraisers. We look forward to the new school year and working together to make it a great one for the entire West Ridge community.

Sincerely,

Caley Svensson

PTO President
